Call for Volunteers for Pear Jam!

Come join Friends of Mill Ridge Park to help throw our annual community celebration, Pear Jam! Pear Jam will take place on Saturday, September 28th and will feature live performances, local cuisine, demonstrations, stories, crafts, games, activities and giveaways. Your support as a volunteer helps improve the wellness of our community and environment by providing recreation and conservation activities and events at Mill Ridge Park in Antioch.
Volunteers can expect to be included in the following ways:

  • learning about and sharing information about park programming and upcoming volunteer opportunities

  • facilitating family-friendly lawn games and activities

  • engaging with guests and exemplifying a fun and inviting experience (bonus points if you have personal stories from the park to share with guests!)

  • pre-event setup and post-event cleaning and teardown

  • event parking and logistics

  • floating to see if other volunteers need help

  • volunteer check in and check out table

Volunteers will be given an option of a meal before or at the end of their shift or a T-shirt. Snacks and refreshments will also be provided, along with sunscreen and bug spray.

Volunteers for this event should prepare for warm weather conditions. There will be a Zoom meeting for Q&A closer to the event for all volunteers! We look forward to seeing you!
